2 Grateful Wine Guys

Thank you!
If you are receiving this email (or reading the blog), chances are you have spent at least a little time in our humble shop (or one of your no-account friends wrote YOUR email in our book, just to subject you to my mindless drivel!). As we prepare for the New Year, I want to take this opportunity to say “thanks” for contributing to our success.
Yes, I know, it hasn’t been a year, as we didn’t officially open until May 15. But that’s not the point. We’ve made it this far because you like our coffee, wine…or both. And, despite the economy, gas prices, global warming, swarms of locusts and drought, you have chosen to spend some of your hard-earned money with us. And we appreciate it.
That being said, I hope that Santa – or the religious icon of your choice – was good to you over the holidays. We had a great special wine tasting last Tuesday, selling out of almost every wine featured. That has never happened before. We even had to order more, as the Fume Blanc was quite popular. We do still have some of that dessert sparkler, great for after dinner or sipping on our deck. We were closed Christmas Day, and will be closed on New Year’s Day…and then we will be open until next Thanksgiving.
Sheesh!
We are hoping to add a food menu in the next couple months, so by spring we will be an even cooler place than we are now! Panini sandwiches, perhaps fondue, cheese plates and antipasti, and some spectacular soups (yes, we will bring back the true soup of the day – rather than offer the same soup every day. Can you say crème of brie? OH….MY…GOD!).
Of course, all of that is dependent upon the kindness of the health department, but things look good, and we will probably begin construction on a second bathroom soon. All of this thanks to some motivated customers who are willing to invest in us, which makes it that much cooler.
Friday and Saturday it is business as usual, with music, wine and merriment for all. If you are a Chamber member, we will be pouring our wines at next Wednesday’s Chamber Social at the Aquarium. The Inigma Chard and the Crimson will get star billing, and will beat the hell right out of the grocery store stuff Chamber members are accustomed to drinking at their monthly socials.
Next week, wine tastings resume their normal schedule, as we are not going to let Old Man Winter bring us down (of course, if the old man keeps temps in the mid-60’s, as he has this week, then I won’t mind winter one bit!). For those of you not living at the beach, I apologize for that piece of information, but, hey, that’s why we live at the beach…
Anyway, thank you again for helping to make our place what it is. Come on in, and let 2 Wine Guys @ The Grind pour you a glass.
